A general surgeon is a specialist trained to diagnose and provide care for surgical conditions affecting almost any area of the body, such as the head and neck, breast, abdomen, arms and legs and internal systems such as gastrointestinal, vascular, and endocrine systems.
For the past 17 years Clinica Tarraula has been fortunate enough to be able to refer patients to the care of Dr Miguel Grimalt, who is an excellent English-speaking General Surgeon. Dr Grimalt visits Clinica Tarraula to offer consultations plus pre and post-operative care. He is also available at all times for emergencies.
Dr Grimalt was born in Palma de Mallorca and obtained his M.D. and ECFMG qualifications from Barcelona University. In order to obtain greater experience and further training Dr Grimalt moved to Canada where he worked in the McGill University Hospitals in Montreal. He obtained his LMCC (Canadian License) and for his last year in Canada became the Chief Resident in General Surgery at the Jewish General Hospital. In 1975 he became a specialist in General Surgery in Spain and upon his return from Canada he worked as a Staff-Surgeon in the General Hospital in Alicante.
